U.S. Flag flown in Afghanistan is now proudly displayed at the Desert View Hospital Pahrump, Nevada
The United States American Flag that had been flown at a combat outpost in Shuraned Kandahar, Afghanistan was donated to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 15 in Pahrump, Nevada. 1st.Sgt. Jason Vanleek of the 287th MP Company, and MSgt. Casey Freeman of the 716th MP Battalion, worked with Bruce Cook, also a Vietnam veteran. Cook and Hammond communicated with the two soldiers for six months to organize the shipment of the flag to Pahrump. Both are on active duty in Kentucky.
Present for the ceremony were Desert View Hospital CEO and President Kelly Adams and board member Dave Uthoff. They accepted the American Flag from the DAV Service Officers Hammond, Falonce and Cook. Present were other veterans and their families, hospital staff and onlookers.
